Describe the objections of the German People to the Treaty of Versailles. (9 Marks)

Explain the importance of Von Papen’s role in Hitler’s rise to Power. (9 Marks)
* L1 A Basic answer makes undeveloped statements without details e.g. he persuaded people to appoint Hitler.

* L2 Answer adds detail to describe Von papen’s Actions

*L3 Answer explains the significance of von Papen’s role – showing with details that his persuasion was crucial in persuading Hindenberg to appoint Hitler as chancellor.

Explain how the Nazis used education as propaganda. (12 Marks)

Why was there so little opposition to Hitler from the Churches in Germany in the years 1934-35? (12 Marks)

* In January 1933 a coalition government was formed with Hitler as chancellor
* In February 1933 a Dutch communist was arrested and charged with setting fire to the Reichstag.
* In August 1934 President Hindenberg died.
